This three-day safari is designed for travelers who want to experience one of Africa's most extraordinary wildlife encounters while adding meaningful cultural immersion to a short itinerary. The journey begins with arrival in Entebbe before continuing through Kampala and onward to the forested mountains for gorilla trekking and a Batwa cultural experience.

The safari is deliberately compact, making it suitable for travelers with limited time who still want to experience gorilla trekking. Private road transportation provides flexibility throughout the journey, while the final return to Kampala and Entebbe keeps the itinerary connected to onward travel arrangements.

Who This Safari Is Ideal For

This safari is ideal for travelers who:

  • Have limited time but want a genuine gorilla trekking experience.
  • Want to combine wildlife with cultural experiences.
  • Prefer a private safari rather than joining a large group.
  • Are comfortable with long road transfers to maximize a short itinerary.
  • Want to add gorilla trekking to a longer East African holiday.
  • Are interested in learning about Batwa heritage and traditional forest knowledge.

Why This Safari Is Best

  • Gorilla Trekking: The central experience is an unforgettable encounter with a habituated gorilla family.
  • Cultural Immersion: The Batwa experience adds human and cultural depth to the journey.
  • Short Duration: Designed for travelers who cannot commit to a longer safari.
  • Private Travel: A private vehicle provides flexibility and personalized support.
  • Two Distinct Experiences: Combines wildlife adventure with cultural discovery.
  • Easy Extension: Can be incorporated into a longer East African itinerary.

Brief List

  • It focuses the limited time around the safari's most important experiences.
  • The itinerary combines gorilla trekking and cultural immersion rather than wildlife alone.
  • Private transportation makes the journey more flexible.
  • It works well as a standalone short safari or an extension to another trip.
  • The final return to Entebbe makes it practical for onward international travel.

Day 3

Gorilla Trekking, Batwa Experience and Return Journey

Rise early for the main highlight of the safari: gorilla trekking. After the ranger briefing, enter the forest in search of your allocated gorilla family. The trek can involve challenging terrain, but the experience of observing gorillas in their natural environment makes the effort exceptionally rewarding.

After the trek, experience the Batwa cultural component before beginning the return journey toward Kampala and onward to Entebbe. The cultural experience provides an opportunity to learn about traditional forest knowledge, heritage, and the relationship between the Batwa people and the forest. For an evening international departure, the exact timing should be coordinated carefully around the trekking schedule and road conditions.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch
Transport: Guided forest trekking and private 4x4 safari vehicle
Distance & Time: Gorilla trekking duration varies according to the gorilla family's location; the return journey from the Bwindi area toward Kampala is approximately 500–550 km / 9–11 hours, with additional time required for the final Kampala–Entebbe transfer.

Unforgettable safari and tour of Murchison Falls! Apollo took my family and I to a wonderful Safari and tour of Murchison falls. I have also travelled with him by myself before. Apollo is kind, funny and a meticulous planner. He is punctual, has excellent local contacts, and superb knowledge of wildlife and culture. Asking him a question is like consulting an encyclopedia, he always knows! Apollo took us for an unforgettable experience in Murchison falls. He arranged transport, accomodation, dining, and tours at a very fair price. During the safari we were able to tour the park almost alone, and thanks to Apollos knowledge of good spots we got to see many rare animals. I would recommend Apollo and Big Predator Tours to anyone wanting to visit Ugandas parks, not just Murchison falls. You won't regret it!

Very good!! When we were in Uganda, we went for two weekends with Apollo on safari. We saw queen Elizabeth national park, Kibale forest, Murchison falls and ziwa Rhino sanctuary. Both times we had a wonderfull experience! Apollo is very trustworthy and everything was organized very good. The best part was chimpanzees tracking in Kibale forest. We also saw lions, elephants, giraffe, rhino's and lots of other animals.

Amazing safari, hikes and more! Apollo is an amazing organiser and guide. We went on two safari's with him. One to Queen Elisabeth Park and one to Murchison falls. Next to the amazing game drives we did in the parks, he also organised chimpansee tracking, a boat safari cruise and a hike up to the Falls. Because of the knowledge of Apollo about the best views, we saw a lot of animals and beautiful nature. Another thing why we booked him the second time is because the accomodation, food, safety and permits were all organised really well, which I think is also really important.

Game changer! We had an amazing time! Apollo is very knowledgeable about the wildlife and surroundings and is very enthusiastic all round, he gave us a tour specific to our needs. Apollo was also friendly enough to set us up completely with a tour and guide for the next day in Queen Elizabeth National Park. Our experience wouldn't have been the same without him!
