The 6-Day Accessible Gorilla, Chimp & Wildlife Safari is designed for travelers who want to experience Uganda's wildlife and primates while having their mobility requirements considered throughout the journey. Starting and ending in Entebbe, the itinerary combines Queen Elizabeth National Park, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, and chimpanzee experiences, with private road transportation and opportunities to adjust activities to individual comfort and ability.
Accessibility is personal, so planning should begin with an understanding of each traveler's walking ability, wheelchair or mobility-aid requirements, transfer needs, and tolerance for uneven terrain. Wildlife drives and boat experiences may be more suitable for some travelers than forest trekking. Gorilla and chimpanzee trekking can involve steep, muddy, uneven forest trails and may not be suitable for every mobility level. Accessible alternatives should be agreed upon before permits and accommodation are confirmed.
The safari should prioritize suitable vehicle access, step-free or low-step accommodation where available, assistance during transfers, manageable daily schedules, and realistic expectations about which experiences can be completed comfortably.

Arrive at Entebbe International Airport and meet your safari representative for a private transfer to your hotel. Before travel, confirm whether airport assistance, wheelchair handling, a suitable vehicle entry height, and luggage support are required.
The rest of the day is kept relaxed. Your guide can review the itinerary with you, confirm the practical arrangements for mobility aids, and discuss which activities may require additional assistance or an alternative plan.
Meals: Dinner, depending on arrival time and package
Transport: Private vehicle selected according to mobility requirements
Distance & Time: Approximately 5–10 km / 15–30 minutes to many Entebbe hotels, depending on the property and traffic.

Depart Entebbe and travel toward Queen Elizabeth National Park. The drive is long, so plan regular comfort stops, opportunities to stretch, accessible restroom breaks where available, and sufficient time to enter and exit the vehicle safely.
On arrival, settle into your lodge and enjoy a relaxed afternoon. Where the lodge's facilities and the traveler's energy permit, spend time enjoying the scenery or a short wildlife-viewing activity without committing to strenuous walking.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Transport: Private 4x4 safari vehicle with suitable access arrangements
Distance & Time: Approximately 400–450 km / 7–9 hours by road, depending on the route, stops, and lodge location.

Enjoy a morning game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park. Wildlife viewing from a vehicle can offer a rewarding safari experience without the physical demands of walking through the bush. The guide can adjust the duration and include breaks according to your comfort.
Later, consider a Kazinga Channel boat cruise, subject to confirmation of boarding arrangements, gangway conditions, steps, and assistance available at the departure point and on the boat. If boarding is not suitable, a game drive or relaxed lodge-based wildlife experience can be arranged instead.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Transport: Private safari vehicle; boat cruise if accessible and confirmed
Distance & Time: Game-drive distances vary; allow approximately 2–3 hours for a scheduled boat cruise, plus transfers and boarding time.

After breakfast, travel toward Bwindi. The route passes through changing landscapes and rural communities, with opportunities to stop for rest and photographs where safe and practical.
On arrival, settle into your accommodation and review the next day's options. Gorilla trekking should not be treated as automatically accessible: trails can be steep, muddy, uneven, and physically demanding. Discuss mobility requirements with the tour operator and park authorities in advance. If trekking is unsuitable, arrange a realistic alternative, such as a scenic outing, cultural experience, or time at the lodge.

If the traveler is able and the relevant authorities confirm that arrangements are suitable, take part in the scheduled gorilla trekking experience. The difficulty varies by gorilla family location and daily trail conditions. Even with assistance, trekking may not be suitable for some travelers with limited mobility.
For guests unable to trek, an alternative day can be planned around accessible cultural activities, scenic viewpoints, birdlife, or lodge-based relaxation, depending on what is available near the chosen accommodation. Any alternative should be confirmed before travel rather than assumed to be included automatically.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Transport: Private vehicle for transfers; trekking or alternative activity as agreed
Distance & Time: Trekking duration and difficulty vary and cannot be guaranteed. Alternative activity distances depend on the selected location.

After breakfast, begin the return journey toward Entebbe, allowing adequate time for comfort breaks and any mobility assistance required during stops. Given the long road distance, a domestic flight from the nearest suitable airstrip may be worth considering if available, operational, and appropriate for the traveler's needs.
Arrive in Entebbe for your onward flight or hotel stay. If departing internationally on the same day, the transfer method and departure time should be checked carefully before confirming the itinerary.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, depending on timing
Transport: Private 4x4 safari vehicle or pre-arranged domestic flight with suitable ground transfers
Distance & Time: By road, approximately 400–500 km / 8–11 hours depending on the Bwindi sector and route. Domestic flight duration and availability must be confirmed.

Unforgettable safari and tour of Murchison Falls! Apollo took my family and I to a wonderful Safari and tour of Murchison falls. I have also travelled with him by myself before. Apollo is kind, funny and a meticulous planner. He is punctual, has excellent local contacts, and superb knowledge of wildlife and culture. Asking him a question is like consulting an encyclopedia, he always knows! Apollo took us for an unforgettable experience in Murchison falls. He arranged transport, accomodation, dining, and tours at a very fair price. During the safari we were able to tour the park almost alone, and thanks to Apollos knowledge of good spots we got to see many rare animals. I would recommend Apollo and Big Predator Tours to anyone wanting to visit Ugandas parks, not just Murchison falls. You won't regret it!Posted on Tripadvisor![]()

Very good!! When we were in Uganda, we went for two weekends with Apollo on safari. We saw queen Elizabeth national park, Kibale forest, Murchison falls and ziwa Rhino sanctuary. Both times we had a wonderfull experience! Apollo is very trustworthy and everything was organized very good. The best part was chimpanzees tracking in Kibale forest. We also saw lions, elephants, giraffe, rhino's and lots of other animals.Posted on Tripadvisor![]()

Amazing safari, hikes and more! Apollo is an amazing organiser and guide. We went on two safari's with him. One to Queen Elisabeth Park and one to Murchison falls. Next to the amazing game drives we did in the parks, he also organised chimpansee tracking, a boat safari cruise and a hike up to the Falls. Because of the knowledge of Apollo about the best views, we saw a lot of animals and beautiful nature. Another thing why we booked him the second time is because the accomodation, food, safety and permits were all organised really well, which I think is also really important.Posted on Tripadvisor![]()
