Why Visit Mount Elgon National Park

Mount Elgon National Park is a mountain and forest destination in eastern Uganda, centred around the ancient Mount Elgon volcanic massif.

Unlike Uganda’s classic savannah parks, Elgon is primarily about hiking, scenery, waterfalls, caves, forests and outdoor exploration. Wildlife is present, but the park is better suited to travellers who want an active mountain experience rather than a Big Five safari.
