8-day Kenya Wildlife Safari & Conservation Journey

Your safari begins with an early morning collection from your Nairobi hotel, residence, or Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.

Travel north through Kenya's fertile central highlands, passing coffee and tea-growing areas before crossing the Equator and entering the drier landscapes of northern Kenya.

The scenery changes dramatically as the green highlands give way to rugged hills, acacia vegetation, and semi-arid plains.

Arrive at your lodge around lunchtime for check-in and some time to relax before your first afternoon game drive.

Explore the area around the Ewaso Nyiro River, one of the region's most important sources of water, in search of the Samburu Special Five—Grevy's zebra, reticulated giraffe, Somali ostrich, Beisa oryx, and gerenuk—alongside elephants, lions, leopards, cheetahs, and abundant birdlife. Return to the lodge before sunset for dinner and your overnight stay.

After an early breakfast, set out with packed picnic lunches for a full-day wildlife adventure.

Follow the Ewaso Nyiro River and explore a mixture of riverine vegetation, open plains, rocky terrain, and acacia woodland, all of which support a remarkable concentration of wildlife in an otherwise dry environment.

Your guide will focus on finding the region's distinctive species while also looking for predators and larger mammals.

Expect opportunities to see elephants, lions, leopards, cheetahs, buffaloes, hyenas, giraffes, zebras, antelopes, and numerous bird species.

After breakfast, leave the northern wilderness behind and travel south through the scenic Laikipia region.

The journey gradually changes from dry, rugged terrain to greener landscapes and expansive private conservation areas, providing a fascinating contrast to the previous two days.

Arrive for lunch before heading out on an afternoon wildlife and conservation experience. Search for the Big Five while learning about innovative conservation work protecting endangered species.

A visit to the endangered species area provides an opportunity to learn about northern white rhino conservation, while the Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary offers insight into the rescue and rehabilitation of chimpanzees.

Return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Search for black and white rhinos, Rothschild's giraffes, lions, buffaloes, zebras, waterbucks, and other wildlife while exploring the lakeshore, woodland, and open grassland habitats.

The surrounding escarpments provide a spectacular backdrop for photography before you return to your lodge for the evening.

As the afternoon light creates excellent photographic conditions across the plains, continue viewing wildlife before returning to camp for dinner.

Arrive at the lake for lunch and check-in. The afternoon is intentionally flexible, allowing you to relax at the lodge or choose an optional experience.

A boat ride provides opportunities to see hippos and waterbirds from the lake, while an optional guided nature walk offers the unusual chance to explore a wildlife-rich environment on foot among giraffes, zebras, antelopes, and birdlife.

On arrival in Nairobi, you will be transferred to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your onward flight, including the supplied option of continuing to Entebbe, Uganda.
