Day 1

Arrival & Transfer to Volcanoes National Park

Upon arrival in Kigali, your professional safari guide welcomes you before beginning the scenic drive northwest toward Volcanoes National Park.

The journey passes through Rwanda's spectacular countryside where endless green hills, terraced farms, charming villages, and breathtaking mountain scenery provide an excellent introduction to the country.

Several scenic stops along the way allow for photography and stretching your legs while enjoying panoramic landscapes.

Upon arrival at your lodge near Volcanoes National Park, you'll check in and enjoy the peaceful surroundings overlooking the Virunga Mountains.

The remainder of the afternoon is free to relax, prepare your trekking gear, and receive a briefing from your guide about the exciting gorilla trekking experience awaiting you the following morning.

Day 2

Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park

Today marks the highlight of your Rwanda safari. After an early breakfast, you'll head to the park headquarters for registration and a comprehensive briefing from Rwanda Development Board rangers. You'll then be assigned to one of the habituated gorilla families based on your fitness level before beginning your guided trek through bamboo forests, dense vegetation, and volcanic slopes.

The trek may last anywhere from one to six hours depending on the gorillas' location.

Once located, you'll spend one unforgettable hour observing these magnificent primates as they feed, play, groom one another, and interact naturally in their forest habitat. This rare wildlife encounter ranks among the world's greatest safari experiences.

After the trek, you'll return to your lodge for relaxation while reflecting on an experience few travelers ever forget.

Day 3

Kigali Genocide Memorial & Departure

After breakfast, you'll depart Volcanoes National Park and return to Kigali while once again enjoying Rwanda's scenic rolling hills.

Upon arrival, you'll visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial, one of Africa's most important historical sites.

The museum provides a moving and educational experience, documenting the events of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi while highlighting Rwanda's inspiring journey toward reconciliation, peace, and national rebuilding.

Depending on your departure schedule, there may be time to explore local craft markets or enjoy lunch in Kigali before your guide transfers you to Kigali International Airport or your preferred city hotel, bringing your remarkable Rwanda safari to a memorable conclusion.
