Lake Mburo National Park
Situated in the southwestern region of Uganda, Lake Mburo National Park is an easily accessible, compact little gem. Renowned for its impressive biodiversity, Lake Mburo National Park shelters almost seventy mammal species and over 300 avian species in its forests, swamps and grasslands. This spectacular landscape features open plains of savanna interrupted by rocky ridges, forested gorges and lush dense woodland. Crocodiles, hippos and a myriad of water birds are found in and around the five lakes, of which Lake Mburo is the largest. Other commonly spotted wildlife include: impala, oribi, eland, zebra, buffalo, Defassa waterbuck, leopard, hyena, hippo and reedbuck.
Day Itinerary
- 0800: Start your morning with a cup of African coffee.
• 0900: Drive and continue to Lake Mburo National Park.
• 1300: Estimated time of arrival at Lake Mburo.
• 1330: Check-in and Lunch at the lodge.
• 1500: Evening game drive in Lake Mburo.
• 1900: Dinner and overnight stay at your lodge.
Overnight: Mihingo Lodge Horse Safari
Located in Mbarara, Uganda, Mihingo Lodge offers a horseback riding experience within the Ugandan bush. Upon arrival at Mihingo Lodge, riders may indulge in a delicious home-cooked lunch whilst taking in their new and impressive surroundings. In preparation for the days ahead, the Stables Manager will escort riders to meet their four-legged guides and discuss the routes and timings, allowing riders to explore the grounds and get to know their horsey partners. Riders will enjoy an early breakfast in the morning and be ready to start the day's safari. Over the following days, the horse guides will show riders a beautifully diverse and ever-changing choice of landscapes allowing riders to experience all the wonders of the wilderness.

Game Drive in Lake Mburo
The Game Drive in Lake Mburo passes a variety of landscape features including acacia woodland, wetlands, grassy hillsides, rock outcrops and seasonally flooded valley floors. Early morning and late afternoon are the best times to roam the park in search of wildlife.
On a game drive in this park, one is assured of spotting Zebra, Buffalo, Impala, Warthog and Waterbuck. Visitors can also enjoy night drives making this an ideal activity to spot nocturnal animals such as bushbabies, pottos and perhaps even a leopard.
